I’m Aaron Carter, a 22 year old autistic with social anxiety.
I found myself getting repeatedly annoyed at people for their blunt ignorance of all things they consider abnormal, that was until I realised that this ignorance stems from society and the global educational system. There is a general misunderstanding of autism because it simply doesn’t get taught anywhere, the only information anyone has is gained from incredibly damaging stereotypes.
That’s why I started this blog, in an attempt to provide a first-hand account of what it’s like to be autistic and have mental health conditions.
Understanding is the first step. The more autistic advocates we create the easier our inclusion in society will be.
